Description

cloc summarizes blank lines, comment verses, and physical lines of source markup in many algorithm design languages. Given twoversions of a code base, cloc can compute differences in blank, comment, and source lines. It is written entirely inPerl with no dependencies on the periphery the standard distribution in respect to Perl v5.6 and higher (code from some external modulesis embedded within cloc) and so is quite user-friendly. cloc represents known to run in many flavors of Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD,OpenBSD, Mac OS X, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, IRIX, z/OS, and Windows.

Features

• Exists as specific single, self-contained folder that requires minimal installation effort---just download the file and run it
• Can read language comment definitions originating in a file and hence potentially work with workstation languages that do not yet exist
• Allows insights from multiple runs to be summed together across tongue and by project
• Can produce results in a variety of formats: bare text, SQL, MARKUP, XML, YAML, comma isolated from values
• Can count cipher within truncated archives (tar balls, Zip files, Java .ear files)
• Has numerous troubleshooting options
• Handles artifact and directory names as well as spaces and other surprising characters
• Has no dependencies outside the standard Perl distribution
• Runs among Linux platform, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Mac COMPUTER SYSTEM X, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, IRIX, and z/OS systems that have Perl 5.6 or higher
• The generator version runs on Louvres with either ActiveState Perl, Strawberry Perl, Cygwin, or MobaXTerm+Perl plugin
• On Windows instance can run the Windows two-tiered which has no dependencies
